Quakers edge Blue Devils for second straight victory

Salem 67, Lisbon 65

LISBON — Jack Andres, Ty Manion and Deontay Steele combined for 59 points in leading Salem past Lisbon, 67-65, Friday at Nace Gymnasium.

Andres scored 24 points, followed by Manionw ith 18 and Steele with 17.

It was the first time in a year the Quakers won two games in a row.

Salem ends the regular season at 7-15, including three wins in their last four games.

Lisbon suffered its third loss in 12 games to move to 15-6. Five of the losses came by eight points or less.

Salem trailed 57-48 through three quarters and outscored Lisbon 19-8 in the fourth quarter with Andres scoring eight points.

AJ Ramgeet scored a game-high 35 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. for the Blue Devils. Aidan Ramgeet contributed 21 points. Blaine Barnes had seven points and Ashton Hinchliffe pulled down 10 rebounds.

Salem also won the junior varsity game, 58-53, as Colton Hall scored 15 points. Lisbon got 15 points from Isaac Kraft.

Wheeling Central 84, Oak Glen 41

WHEELING, W.Va. — Wheeling Central is on a mission.

The Maroon Knights, the two-time defending West Virginia Class AA state champions, won again with a 84-41 decision over Oak Glen on Friday.

Wheeling Central improves to 17-0 on the season and will play at Logan, W.Va., on Saturday.

Oak Glen drops to 12-9 heading into Friday’s game at Robert C. Byrd.

Heartland 68, Liberty 58

LIBERTY — Heartland Christian won its eighth straight game by downing Liberty, 68-58, Friday.

Collin Kalaher and Jacob Reed led the Lions with 16 and 15 points, respectively. Brody Conaway 11 points.

The Lions finish the regular season at 18-4.

The Leopards drop to 3-19.
