East Liverpool girls to district
DOVER — The East Liverpool girls bowling team advanced out of the Division II sectional tournament Wednesday at Boulevard Lanes.
The Potters finished third with 2,770 pins. The top six teams and top six individuals not on a qualifying team advance to the district tournament at Legacy Lanes in Coshocton on Feb. 19.
Joining the Potters at the district tournament are sectional champion River View (3,311), Carrollton (2,983), Harrison Central (2,769), Sugarcreek Garaway (2,760) and Minerva (2,732). Minerva edged Barnesville by 18 pins for the sixth and final district berth.
Minerva senior Bailey Wood was the individual champion with a 550 series (171-189-190). She finished two pins ahead of Carrollton senior Kaylee Russell’s 548 series (152-191-205). Russell was the 2024 Division II state champion.
East Liverpool senior Lani Rudibaugh topped the Potters by placing ninth with a 475 series (175-142-158). Also for the Potters, freshman Lillian White was 19th with a 427 series (122-178-127), freshman Cameron Estell was 39th with a 383 series (127-154-102) and senior Danni Riggle was 45th with a 373 series (140-127-106).
For Beaver Local, junior Emmalee Wilder was 68th with a 344 series (89-138-117).
