CALCUTTA — Beaver Local’s wrestling team turned in a 41-29 dual win over Austintown Fitch on Wednesday.

Jordan Bates, John Burkett, Matthew Tomaino, Bobby Buchheit and Jake Hughes had pins for the winners.

“I’m really proud of our guys tonight. We knew this was going to be a tough, competitive dual against a great team,” Beaver Local coach Johnny McComas said. “Our wrestlers stepped up in big moments. From top to bottom, we had kids rise to the challenge and win key matches.

“This win is the kind of win that shows what this team and program are all about. We want great competition, and our guys stepped up, won big matches and competed for every point.”

Beaver Local will compete in the Div. II sectional on Feb. 28 at Steubenville.
