Browns interview Brit

BEREA (AP) — Seattle defensive coordinator Aden Durde and Cincinnati offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher interviewed for the Cleveland Browns’ head coaching opening on Friday.

The Browns fired Kevin Stefanski on Monday after six seasons and a 36-58 overall mark. Stefanski interviewed for Baltimore’s head coach vacancy on Friday.

Durde is in his second season with the Seahawks and is the NFL’s first British-born defensive coordinator. He was the head of football development at NFLUK from 2015-18, and helped create the framework that is part of the current International Player Pathway program.

The Seahawks allowed the fewest points per game during the regular season (17.2), were third in rushing (91 yards per game) and sixth overall (285.6 yards per game).

Durde was on Atlanta’s staff for three seasons (2018-20) and spent three seasons as Dallas’ defensive line coach (2021-23) before going to Seattle.

Pitcher has been on the Bengals staff since 2016. He was promoted to quarterback coach in 2020 and then offensive coordinator in 2024.

Cincinnati led the league in passing yards in 2024, but struggled this season when Joe Burrow missed nine games due to a toe injury.

Browns offensive coordinator Tommy Rees and defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz interviewed on Thursday.

Stefanski interviewed

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) — The Baltimore Ravens interviewed former Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski and Seattle offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak for their head-coaching vacancy on Friday.

The Ravens fired John Harbaugh earlier in the week after 18 seasons at the helm. They interviewed two Denver assistants — Vance Joseph and Davis Webb — on Thursday.

Stefanski was fired by the Browns after six seasons as coach. The 43-year-old Stefanski has won two Coach of the Year awards and guided Cleveland to its first postseason victory in over a quarter-century, but the Browns won only eight games over the past two seasons.

This is Kubiak’s first season as offensive coordinator for the Seahawks, who have a first-round bye this week in the NFC playoffs. Last season he held the same position with New Orleans. He’s also been an offensive coordinator with Minnesota.

Kubiak is the son of former NFL coach Gary Kubiak, who was in charge when Denver won the Super Bowl a decade ago.

Starting at $2.99/week.
