Freshman star propels Indians

SALINEVILLE --Southern Local's girls basketball team rolled to another big win this time dismantling East Liverpool 54-10 on Saturday.

The Indians are 8-0.

Freshman sensation Katie Kellogg led the winners with 22 points, seven rebounds, six assists, 12 steals and a block. Allyssa Shroades added 10 points, seven steals, two rebounds and two assists. Kalayah Crute had six points, eight boards and two steals.

LaNease Andrews and Courtney Barker had three points each for East Liverpool.

Southern hosts Leetonia today.

CALCUTTA -- United's girls basketball team sidestepped Beaver Local 45-34 on Saturday.

For the Eagles, Maelee Smith had 18 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Bella Thompson had 14 points, five steals and six assists. Reagan Good added eight points and 10 rebounds.

United is 3-4.

For Beaver Local, Mercedes McCullough had 12 points. Mallory Miller added 10 points and Bella McLevey had six points.

Beaver Local won the jayvee game, 27-24. Lilly Wright had 10 points for the Beavers. Kyle Holmes and Isabella Thompson had seven points each for United.

Beaver Local is at Brooke today.
