Tigers, Devils advance

WILLOUGHBY– Lisbon scored a 25-12, 27-25, 25-20 sweep of Lordstown on Thursday in a Div. VII sectional final at Cornerstone Christian.

The No. 11 seed Blue Devils (13-11) jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the first set and never looked back against the 17th seeded Red Devils.

Maddie Marshalek led the attack with 10 kills and two blocks. Addison Anderson added eight kills and nine aces. Gionna Lenigar had six kills and three blocks, while Abby Ammon tallied three kills and 18 digs. Alayna Householder contributed four kills, 11 digs and eight points. Setter Stefanee Stacey had 27 assists, three kills and two blocks, while junior libero Hannah Davis turned in a brilliant defensive effort with 22 digs.

Lisbon plays No. 6 seed Cornerstone Christian at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the district semifinal at Kidron Central Christian.

Wellsville 3, Lowellville 1

KIDRON — Wellsville downed Lowellville 25-18, 22-25, 25-16, 25-9 in Division VII sectional play Thursday.

The 18th-seeded Wellsville improves to 7-15 and will play at second-seeded Kidron Central at 7 p.m. Tuesday in a district semifinal.

Lowellville, the 19th seed, finishes the season at 3-18, including two wins against Sebring.

Lake Center 3,

Southern 0

CAMPBELL — The 25th-seeded Lake Center Christian volleyball team topped 23rd-seeded Southern Local, 25-12, 25-18, 25-20, in a Division VI sectional play Thursday.

Lake Center (12-7) will play third-seeded Campbell Memorial at 5 p.m. Monday in the district semifinal at Middlefield Cardinal.

Southern was paced by seniros Haylee Kellogg with eight points and 18 assits, Allyssa Shroades nine kills and two blocks and Brooke Boyle served four points. Katie Kellogg contributed four point and 11 kills, Natalia Lopez six kills and four blocks and Kalayah Crute three kills and two blocks.

Southern finishes the season with a 12-11 record.
