Bears reign as BMC champs

Oak Glen’s junior high volleyball teams scored wins over Toronto to win their respective BMC tournament titles on Thursday. The 7th graders (16-1) were 18-25, 25-20, 25-17 winners in handing the Red Knights their first loss of the season. Presley Chaffin led the team with 14 points and eight kills. Kinley Moore and Kolvyn Gibson each scored six points. Danica Eckleberry, Mariah Brown and Brooke McGillian scored five points a piece. Brown had 32 sets while Gibson had nine kills and McGillian had 11 kills. The 8th graders (21-2-2) were 25-12, 25-11 winners over the Red Knights. Laikynn Eckleberry led the team with 10 points and eight kills. Kaia Parish added six points and six kills. Bristol Eckleberry had five points and eight kills. Doedee Woolley had five points and 10 kills.
