Potters, Beavers advance

DOVER — The Beaver Local doubles team of Kara Wain and Emily Wain will play East Liverpool’s LaNease Andrews and Lana Le for the Div. II girls tennis sectional championship today at Dover City Park.

Both doubles teams have already qualified for the district tournament after sectional play on Monday.

The district tournament is set for Oct. 8 and 11 at Columbus Academy in Gahanna. Two singles players and two doubles teams from that tournament will qualify for the state tournament.

Turkey shoots set

EAST LIVERPOOL — The Tri-State Coon Hunters and Sportsman Club at 2601 Irish Ridge Road in East Liverpool will be sponsoring turkey shoots on Saturdays October 4th and 18th, and November 1st and 15th. They will start at 10 a.m.

Hickman finishes 20th

ZANESVILLE — Beaver Local’s Britton Hickman finished 20th on Monday at the Div. II boys district golf tournament at EagleSticks.

Hickman shot 79. Indian Valley (291) and River View (295) were the two team state qualifiers, while Indian Valley’s Hayden Beaver (71) and Maysville’s Gator Nichols (71) were the two individual state qualifiers not on qualifying teams.
