East Liverpool blocks Linsly
EAST LIVERPOOL — Ava Green totaled 26 kills and two blocks as East Liverpool rolled over Wheeling Linsly, 25-21, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20, Saturday.
The Potters won for the sixth time in the last seven matches to improve to 10-3. The Cadets move to 13-4.
Also contributed to East Liverpool’s victory were Kamryn Yanni with two aces, four kills and 41 assists, Presley Jones two aces and seven kills, Kendall Martin six aces and six kills, Addie Jones four kills, Hailey Board three kills and three blocks and Ayla Riggle two aces and five assists.
East Liverpool also won the junior varsity match, 25-21, 25-10.
Peyton Tanner totaled eight aces and nine assists for the Potters. Koli Spencer had six kills, Maddie Campbell three kills and Ella Gunning three aces.
East Liverpool will host Brooke today. The two teams also played on Sept. 4 with the Potters winning 3-0.
Oak Glen wins two
NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Oak Glen emerged with two more wins Saturday.
The Golden Bears finished off the day with a 25-22, 20-25, 25-17 win over Philip Barbour in a matchup of highly-regarded West Virginia teams.
Brayley Lash led the Golden Bears with 12 kills. Brooklyn Six had 10 kills, Averi Martin nine kills, Mikalyn Balch 30 assists and 14 digs, Keira Vick 15 digs and Layla Skavenski four digs.
Oak Glen also beat Buffalo High School, 25-14, 25-11. Mikalyn Balch topped the Golden Bears with 26 assists and three aces. Brayley Lash had eight kills, Brooklyn Six seven kills, Averi Martin six kills, Haylee Stewart four kills and Keira Vick 15 digs.
Philip Barbour also beat Buffalo, 25-14, 25-15.
Oak Glen improves to 15-6-3, while Philip Barbour moves to 15-6-1.
Oak Glen will host Beaver Local (12-1) in a showdown Tuesday.
