Oak Glen’s Cameron does well at Riverside meet
PAINESVILLE — Oak Glen junior Lacey Cameron and Edison senior Josie Lesnansky raced to high finishes at the HOKA Kickoff Classic XC Showcase on Saturday night.
Cameron was 14th in the Gold Division girls race. She covered the 3.1-mile course at Riverside High School in 19 minutes, 55.26 seconds.
Marlington junior Irelyn Johnson topped the 314-runner girls field in 18:24.58.
Columbiana also competed in the Gold Division.
Lesnansky was 11th out of 313 girls runners in the Black Division in 20:33.51.
There were 4,000 runners between all the races.

Panerathon
YOUNGSTOWN — The 16th annual Panerathon through downtown Youngstown and Mill Creek Park had 841 finishers for the 10K race.
Tyler Clark, 24, of Niles was first in the 6.1-mile event in 31 minutes, 30.0 seconds.
Bre Rupe, 29, of Youngstown won the women’s race in 38:35.7.
There were 841 finishers, including 437 males and 404 females.
Recent Heartland Christian graduate Sawyer Szabo, 19, was fifth overall (36:23.7). Jeff Geiss, 49, finished sixth (36:35.4) and topped the Men’s Masters division. Heartland Christian senior Mason Sharo, 17, was 14th (38:19.8).
