Southern vs. East Palestine (DH)

SALINEVILLE — Southern and East Palestine split a softball doubleheader on Saturday.

Southern won the first game, 10-7. Hailey Maines had a triple to lead the Indians. Addy Martin had the win in the circle with five strikeouts and five walks.

Taylor Foster had two hits including a double for the Bulldogs. Kennedy Andre took the loss with four strikeouts and two walks in 3 1/3 innings.

In the second game, Foster had a home run and double with four RBIs in the Bulldogs’ 12-6 win.

Andre was the winning pitcher with three strikeouts and three walks in five innings.

Martin took the loss for Southern with no strikeouts and five walks in five innings. Raelea Carosiello led the Indians with three hits including a double with an RBI.

Southern is 8-11 and 6-5 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference. The Indians are United on Wednesday for a tournament game.

The Bulldogs are 11-10 and 6-6 in the EOAC. The Bulldogs host Lake Center Christian on Wednesday in a tournament game.
