The Oak Glen girls tennis team won the Class AA-A, Region 1 tournament title held Monday through Wednesday at John Marshall High School. Members of the Oak Glen team are: Elle Monaco, Leah McMahan, Ruby Chaney, Reese Witherow, Roxye Brown and Zoey Caughey.

Oak Glen, along with Weir High, advanced to the state tournament set for May 15-17 at Charleston Catholic and the Charleston YMCA. Monaco and Chaney were doubles champions with Weir’s Megan Dunmyer and Jenna Costello finishing second. Both teams will be in the state doubles competition. Costello was also the singles champion, while Chaney was second and Monaco third. Dunmyer placed fourth in the singles. All four will be in the state singles competition. (Submitted Photo)
