Devils break Potters
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Lainey Benedict had two doubles and a single and Karlee Higgins also had three hits in leading St. Clairsville past East Liverpool, 5-1, Thursday.
Sophia Turner was the winning pitcher, striking out 10 and walking none.
Alanna McGonigal had a double, a single and scored a run for the Potters.
Cate Davis took the loss, giving up five earned runs with one strikeout and one walk.

Wellsville 15, Heartland 11
UNITY — Wellsville trailed 6-0 before the Tigers’ bats got going Thursday.
The Tigers scored the final nine runs to rally past Heartland Christian, 15-11, at Ace of Diamonds.
Rylee Brown led the Tigers by going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and was a defensive standout in her first game at catcher.
Isabella Vallera tripled, singled and drove in a run and Makayla Landess collected three RBIs.
Makayla Landens earned the victory in three innings of relief of her sister, Madelyn.
Wellsville improves to 7-11 and will play at EOAC champion Columbiana on Monday.
