Chaney topples Tigers
WELLSVILLE — Youngstown Chaney scored four runs in the second inning to highlight an 8-4 win over Wellsville on Monday.
Both teams had five hits.
Tyler Landess went 2-for-2 with a triple for Wellsville and scored two runs. Austin Watkins had two hits and two RBIs and Landon Ramsey scored two runs.
Ramsey was the starting pitcher, giving up six runs, one earned, on three hits in 1 2/3 innings. He struck out two and walked two. Landess pitched the final three innings, giving up two earned runs on two hits. He struck out five and walked three.
Wellsville will play at Malvern on Thursday.

Tyler 5, Oak Glen 1
SISTERSVILLE, W.Va. — Nate Deaton went 3-for-4 in leading Tyler Consolidated past Oak Glen, 5-1, in a West Virginia Class AA, Region 1 tournament game Monday.
Reese Davis got the victory, pitching five shutout innings. He gave up two hits with six strikeouts and five walks.
Fourth-seeded Tyler (15-13) advances to pay top-seeded Wheeling Central today.
Maddox McKay topped the Golden Bears by going 2-for-3 with a double and their only run. Sam Jenkins doubled and drove in a run. Lucas Zoellers added a single.
The Bears finished at 12-15.

East Palestine 12, Southern 2
UNITY — Cale Moraski had three hits, including a double, and scored three runs as East Palestine beat Southern, 12-2, in five innings Monday.
Kyler Bourne also had three hits, Kealin Simon two hits and three runs and Phoenix Marvin contributed a triple.
Blake Noel earned the complete-game victory. He gave up two runs in the first inning and nothing after that. He scattered four hits with six strikeouts and two walks.
The Bulldogs improve to 15-7 overall and 8-2 in the EOAC, one game behind United.
Mason Sosack topped the Indians with a hit and an RBI.
East Palestine will play at Southern on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are scheduled to wrap up EOAC play Monday at Lisbon.

Lisbon 14, Leetonia 1
LISBON — Devin Kelly and Ashton Hinchliffe each scored three runs in Lisbon’s 14-1 five-inning win over Leetonia on Monday.
Both went 2-for-2 with Kelly getting a triple. Hinchliffe also drove in two runs.
Mason Jones went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs, while Brady Carpenter doubled, drove in three runs. Nick Peruchetti collected two hits. Logan Sturgeon also drove in two runs and Marc Moore scored two. Bryce Esarey hit a double.
Carpenter also was the winning pitcher, tossing four shutout innings. He gave up two hits and no walks and struck out nine. Hinchliffe gave up one run in one inning. He struck out two and walked two.
Jason King and Brayden Earl had hits for the Bears.
Lisbon will play at Beaver Local on Wednesday.

Columbiana 11, United 6
HANOVERTON — The Columbiana baseball isn’t ready to give up a hold on the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference title.
The Clippers stunned EOAC-leading United with a six-run fifth inning for an 11-6 victory Monday.
United has already clinched a share of the EOAC title, but Columbiana can gain a share with a win over United at Firestone Park on Wednesday. The 11 runs scored by the Clippers were one more than the Eagles allowed in their 10 league victory.
Columbiana — which has been unbeaten in league play the past two seasons — improves to 11-12 overall and 9-2 in league play. The Clippers and East Palestine trail United by one game.
United drops to 18-5 and 10-1 in league play.
Reese Roush topped the Clippers by going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three stolen bases. Avery Young had a double, a singled, stole three bases, scored three runs and scored two more.
Roush pitched the first five innings for the victory as the Clippers snapped a three-game losing streak. He gave up four earned runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and three walks. Sam Inboden pitched 1 1/3 innings, giving up two unearned runs on one hit with two strikeouts and walk walks. Young pitched 2/3 of an inning with one strikeout and one walk.
Cavan Jackson and Quentin Taylor each had two hits and one run for the Eagles. Kadin Schonauer drove in two runs.
Schonauer, United’s starter, gave up nine runs, six earned, on five hits and eight walks in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out six. Carter Simmons pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief, giving up two runs, one earned, on two hits and four walks with two strikeouts.
