EAST LIVERPOOL — Clark Rutledge scored three runs and hit a double and Cale Moraski had two hits, two runs and two RBIs in leading East Palestine past East Liverpool, 12-7, in a game shortened to six innings by a thunderstorm Thursday.

The Bulldogs improve to 10-7 on the season.

Phoenix Marvin was the winning pitcher, giving up one run on three hits over the first three innings. He struck out five and walked five.

Kyler Bourne came in for two innings, allowing five runs with one strikeout and one walk. Kealin Simon finished it off, giving up one unearned run with one strikeout and one walk in one inning.

Bourne also hit a double.

For East Liverpool, Nate Birch went 3-for-3 and Dre Brown was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs. Kasen Ramsey and Grant Wright also had doubles.

The Potters had five pitchers share duty, giving up 12 earned runs with five strikeouts and nine walks.

Weir 6, Oak Glen 5

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Oak Glen scored four runs in the sixth inning before falling to Weir, 6-5, in eight innings Thursday.

Josh Maher’s RBI single tied the score at 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth.

Weir responded with two runs in the top of the eighth. Oak Glen had one to close the gap to one run.

Christian Chappell doubled, singled and drove in two runs for the Golden Bears. Noah Willey also had two RBIs.

Chappell took the loss, giving up two runs in one inning on one hit and one walk.

Willey pitched the first seven inning, allowing four runs, none earned, on five hits. He struck out seven and walked three.

Oak Glen will host Bellaire on Monday.

Lisbon 13, Chaney 2

YOUNGSTOWN — Bryce Esarey struck out 13 on the mound and helped himself with a double and three RBIs in Lisbon’s 13-2 win over Youngstown Chaney in six innings Thursday.

Esarey gave up four hits and walked one.

Ashton Hinchliffe had three hits for the Blue Devils, who improve to 8-7 on the season. Nick Peruchetti had two hits and scored two runs and Brady Carpenter had two hits and two RBIs.

Paxton Henthorne, Devin Kelly and Aiden Myers each scored two runs.
