Potters shock Pa. power
BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — The Kade Reynolds’ era is off to a roaring start.
East Liverpool came back from a 22-point halftime deficit to stun defending Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class 4A state champion Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center 51-47 on Friday at Geneva College.
It was the head coaching debut for Reynolds who took over for Nate Conley in the offseason.
Lincoln Park led 15-6 after the first quarter and 33-11 at the half.
East Liverpool outscored Lincoln Park 25-5 in the third quarter to cut the lead to two heading into the final frame. Quintin Conrad’s three at the third quarter buzzer extended the momentum into the fourth as a Conrad fast break bucket with 7:20 left in the game tied the contest at 38. Nate Birch’s bucket with 5:54 left in the game put the Potters up for good.
East Liverpool hosts Carrollton on Tuesday.

LISBON — Mogadore opened the second quarter with a 18-2 run and pulled away from Lisbon, 67-35, Friday in the eighth annual Lisbon Tip-Off Tournament .
The Wildcats advance to play Heartland Christian in the championship game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Nace Gymnasium. Lisbon, last year’s tournament champion, will play Salem in the consolation game at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Jordon Smith topped Mogadore with a game-high 24 points. Karson Jaber and Nick Stephenson each had eight points. Both played key roles in Mogadore’s 27-13 win at United in a Division VI playoff opener on Nov. 1.
The Wildcats were in basketball shape Friday night.
After playing to a 10-10 in the first quarter, Mogadore scored the first eight points of the second quarter and went ahead 28-12 with 1:36 left in the quarter.
Lisbon cut the margin to 28-16 at halftime, but was outscored 39-19 in the second half.
AJ Ramgeet paced the Blue Devils with 14 points, nine rebounds, six steals and five assists.
Aiden Ramgeet added eight points. Luke Kraft and Tim Brandon each grabbed 10 rebounds.
Mogadore also won the junior varsity game, 56-22, as Brock Thiry scored 14 points. Aiden Myers had 11 for Lisbon.
