HANOVERTON -- Beaver Local exploded for 10 runs in the fourth inning to down United 17-6 in five innings on Tuesday in regular season softball action.
Ciara Call had a home run, single and three RBIs for the Beavers. Addison Eells had a single, double and three RBIs. Tori Druschel chipped in with a single and double. Lora Reeder had two hits and four RBIs. Tatum Duncan had a double and RBI.
Megan Henrich got the win as she struck out none and walked none in 2 1/3 innings.
Kiley Hetherington had a home run and double with two RBIs for United. Sam Lippiatt and Madelynn Lucas doubled, while Joshlynn Irey had three hits and an RBI.
Grace Coffee was the losing pitcher as she struck out three and walked seven in 3 2/3 innings.
Beaver Local is 15-10, while United is 18-4.
No. 6 seed United hosts No. 9 seed Poland in a Div. III sectional final on Thursday.

WELLSVILLE -- Malvern scored 11 runs in the first inning and cruised to a 15-1 win over Wellville in five innings on Tuesday.
Richie Dowling and Ethan Morris had singles for the Tigers. Tyler Landess took the loss with four strikeouts and a walk in three innings.
Wellsville is 2-18.

EAST LIVERPOOL -- Carrollton's Hayden Jenkins limited East Liverpool to one hit in a 4-0 win on Tuesday.
Evan Tice had the only hit for the Potters. East Liverpool turned two double plays on defense.
Eli Suznevich took the loss with three strikeouts and four walks in three innings.
East Liverpool (10-12) hosts Beaver Local in a Div. II sectional opener on Saturday.
