Beaver Valley unbeaten in Cooperstown
COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. -- Beaver Valley 12U Red turned in a hall of fame performance in the Cooperstown Dreams Park Experience recently.
Beaver Local's Reid Schwerha hit a two-run homer over the left field wall at Little Majors Stadium in the sixth inning to give Beaver Valley an 8-6 win over Mission Baseball from Charlotte, N.C., in the championship game.
Over four days, Beaver Valley went 10-0 and hit 60 home runs and scored 178 runs while only giving up 44 runs.
Beaver Valley ended the season with a record of 48-11-1.
Huff races to victory at Jennerstown
JENNERSTOWN, Pa. -- Brandon Huff of East Palestine captured his second win in a month in the CRS Super Truck Series.
He finished first out of 13 trucks in a 50-lap feature Saturday night at Jennerstown Speedway, a fast half-mile asphalt oval. Huff was the fast qualifier.
He also won at Sandusky Speedway on June 24. The CRS series will go to Painesville Speedway this Saturday.
