Thanks & Spanks

THANKS, writes a reader, to the owner of Szechuan Chinese Restaurant who provided me with a flashlight so I could see my way home (up the hill) after the tornado hit Lakeview Estates and blocked the roads.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to community officials who, as public citizens, don’t follow the rules that have been established in the community in which they govern.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to the two men who blow leaves into and across our roadway (Vine Street) and do not pick them up. It makes our neighborhood very unattractive.

THANKS, writes a reader, to those who support and fight diseases such as cistic fibrosis, M.S., cancer, Lou Gehrig, etc. It is not our choice to be stricken with these diseases. SPANKS, however, to those who choose what has proven to be an addiction and then claim that choice to be a disease.

THANKS, writes a reader, to both North Elementary School and the Federal Credit Union for their food donations to the food pantry at East Liverpool First Church of the Nazarene.

THANKS, writes a reader, to those organizations, clubs, churches, etc. that provided free Thanksgiving meals to the community.

THANKS, writes a reader, to those authorities behind Operation Big Oak for cleaning up our area by getting drugs and those who sell them off our streets. It’s a great start. Keep it up.

THANKS, writes a reader, to the family that donated the tree that will be on display on the Diamond in East Liverpool during the Christmas season.
