Thanks & Spanks

THANKS, writes a reader, to the man who found my bank card in the AAA parking lot, and took it inside where they called me. It is nice to know that there are still some honest and nice people around. Once again a huge thank you.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to the post office for eliminating the street-side slot for the outside mailbox in downtown East Liverpool. It was a convenience.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to the referee at an area high school basketball game for his blatant disregard for the safety and well-being of an athlete who was injured and laying under the hoop. This referee chose to let the game proceed while the boy was rolling around on the floor in obvious pain. Thankfully he wasn't hurt as seriously as he could have been. THANKS, though, to the coaches who cared enough about this boy and voiced their outrage for this situation even though it cost them a technical foul.

THANKS, writes a reader, to East Liverpool officials for finding a way to replace the Elizabeth Street bridge without any cost to the residents.
