THANKS, writes a reader, to our local Papa John's pizza for its generous donation toward LaCroft Elementary's project. The donation allowed every fourth-grade student the opportunity to use their creativity and provided them with a great hands-on learning experience.
Members of the Point Pleasant Ladies Aide send a THANKS to those who visited the "All Sports Booth" at the Old Time Fair at Tomlinson Run State Park and the New Cumberland River Fest. Because of the turnout, the ladies will be able to continue giving a scholarship to an Oak Glen High School senior, as well as donating to the Food Closet, the Wounded Warriors, and other charities. Thanks for helping us help others.
SPANKS, writes a reader, to an area athletic director for not permitting a neighboring school's marching band to play an abbreviated version of its halftime show during a recent high school football game. These students have worked hard to perform their shows for crowds -- both home and away.
THANKS, writes a reader, to the St. Clair Township Tourism Bureau for sponsoring the "Music in the Park" series at Calcutta Community Park. What a great way to spend a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon listening to local talent. Keep up the good work.
