THANKS, writes a reader, to the family that came to my assistance when I was in need while visiting Columbiana County Memorial Park. God bless them. I’ll always remember.

THANKS, writes a reader, to the person who turned in my change purse at Walmart. I appreciate your honesty.

THANKS, writes a reader, to the East Liverpool Mayor’s Office, the City Planning Director’s Office, and most of all the ELPD in helping us resolve a neighborhood issue.

THANKS, writes a reader, to Thrive Student Ministry, for the hard work in keeping the area around the Tri-State Pottery Festival clean and free of trash. Keep up the good work kids.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to adults who think it is OK to smoke at public events, such as the Wellsville Fireman’s Festival and the Tri-State Pottery Festival, where there are many children. If you want to expose your own children to second-hand smoke, that’s one thing, but exposing other children is rude and inappropriate.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to motorists who throw trash out their windows while traveling along Route 30 hill in Chester. I shouldn’t have to pick it up every day.

THANKS, writes a reader, to the Chester Water Board and Superintendent Jasen Havens and his crew for the great service to our town when there is a water break. SPANKS, though, to those who are in their faces when they don’t have water.

THANKS, writes a reader, to the people in Chester who donated time and energy to scrape and paint 62 light poles along Carolina Avenue, especially Dustin Lang, who initially took on the project. Looks fantastic.

THANKS, writes a reader, to the nice gentleman who returned my cane to employees at Calcutta Giant Eagle on Monday. There are nice people.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to an area cemetery for how deplorable it looked for Memorial Day. It’s pretty sad when you have to take your own lawnmower to cut the grass on your loved one’s grave.

THANKS, writes a reader, to the person who recorded the plate number of the vehicle that hit my parked car and then reported it to police. The vehicle drove away, but if it weren’t for you, I don’t know what I would have done.

Starting at /week.
