SPANKS, writes a reader, to a local cemetery for not having the grass cut and looking nice for Mother’s Day.

THANKS, writes a reader, to Southern Local School and FFA for giving the young people the opportunity to learn about farming and community service. Family farms are gradually disappearing from the United States so it is heartening to see there are still some young people interested in farming. Congratulations to the students for their accomplishments.

THANKS, writes a reader, for printing the T&S column and in advance for using this article.

Glenmoor American Legion 736 Auxiliary wishes to THANK the volunteers and Glenmoor community for their generosity in making our poppy day road block a great success. Also, a big THANKS to Tim Horton’s for donating the delicious donuts. God Bless everyone for helping our veterans.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to the EL Board of Education for not listening to issues concerning the best educational environment for the young children of this district.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to the East Liverpool City School District for giving a three year contact to a guidance counselor that several parents do not want their young children around.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to an area cemetery that failed to mow the grass prior to Mother’s Day. The grass and weeds were taller than the tombstones (and still are). This is not new, it has been an ongoing occurrence for over 40 years.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to those citizens who are in an uproar over the cancellation of the Lord’s Prayer at East Liverpool’s graduation ceremony. It’s called separation of church and state a provision our country was founded on.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to the Street Dept. for only filling a few of the huge potholes on St. George St. and leaving the rest of the street with craters big enough to swallow a tire. Mulberry isn’t any better.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to The East Liverpool School district should be ashamed to employ an elementary counselor that does not know the meaning of “confidentiality”.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to the Chester City Council for not utilizing their Street Department workers to paint the light poles in Chester. The department has too many employees as it is and they need more to do. It should not be necessary to enlist the help of volunteers to paint the light poles. THANKS to Dustin Lang and the other volunteers that stepped up to help beautify the city.
