SPANKS, writes a reader, to the person who put a freezer full of old food on Harding Avenue for free rather than discarding of it properly. SPANKS, too, to the individual who took the freezer and dumped the contents of it in the yard for the neighbor to pick up.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to those individuals who drive through the Smith Oil parking lot to drop their children off at the St. Clair Avenue/Lang Street bus stop when patrons are trying to get into Smith Oil to make purchases.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to the East Liverpool sanitation employees I see routinely dumping recyclables in with the regular trash when collecting in Pleasant Heights.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to whomever is in charge of the overflowing garbage cans in the East End.

THANKS, writes a reader, to the nice lady at Dollar General in Calcutta for paying the 63 cents I was short of for my purchase. I was so embarrassed. You are an angel.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to members of East Liverpool City Council for saying the new business on Pennsylvania Avenue is not looking good. It looks better then it did before and council should be more concerned what the Car Barn looks like. It is a disgrace to the city.

THANKS, writes a reader, to the children and parents who braved the weather Sept. 12 to attend the Children’s Garden Festival. THANKS, too, to the members of ELCGC and volunteers for their hard work and dedication.
