SPANKS, writes a reader, to local school district officials that are pushing for student-athlete drug testing, but overlook known high school athletes who drink. Proof is on social media for all to see.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to people who feel the need to steal gas caps because they’re too cheap to buy their own. You may have gotten away with it, but God knows who you are.

SPANKS, writes a reader, to East Liverpool city officials for not treating Ray Street in the 3rd Ward during the recent week of snow and ice. THANKS, though, to the good neighbor boy who tried to plow us out without any help from the city.

THANKS, writes a reader, to a kind gentleman who tried to help me when I had a problem with my car at the Calcutta Mini Mart. He even made a phone call for me. God Bless.

THANKS, writes a reader, to the generous woman behind me at Aldi’s who paid for my $86 grocery bill when my card was declined. I was so blown away by your extreme generosity that I didn’t thank you appropriately. May you be blessed a thousand times over for your expression of kindness to a total stranger in need. I promise to pay it forward when I’m given the opportunity.

THANKS, writes a reader, to the wonderful ladies at the Wellsville Carnegie Library. They are so helpful whether you want a movie or book or want to fax a paper. All are so giving. These ladies always make you feel welcome with smiles on their faces.

THANKS, writes a reader, to the person in the gold SUV ahead of me at Tim Horton’s drive-thru who purchased my lunch on Feb. 1. I wish could thank you in person. What a nice surprise! Your kind act was very much appreciated.
