The Death of Revival

There are many reasons why revival has died.

First, and most important, many churches do not want a revival. They are extremely happy in the condition they are in.

But as I am always watching my church and churches in our denominations, there is a decrease in most churches.

In fact, after doing search and looking up a surveys on the internet, I have found out that almost all churches are in a decline, and some as much as fifty percent. We have a few non-denominational churches that are growing but have a very short life span.

Many fall prey to false doctrines or false teachers and close up. As the gallop poll showed, many of them are short lived.

I tell all of you this just to let you know we need revival in our churches more than ever.

The definition of revival refers to a sovereign work of God that brings believers out of spiritual slumber, restoring them to a life of fervent devotion and holiness (gotquestion.org).

Well there you have it.

This is the reason we do not want revival.

Who wants to live a holiness life when there is so much sin in the world to enjoy in our lives. After all, good people go to heaven.

Once I told God, “I’m sorry,” there’s no reason I have to ever tell him again.

Just like my wife, I told her I loved her once and that is enough. If it changes, I’ll let her know.

The problem with that above statement is that it doesn’t line up with God’s word. In fact, Psalms 85:6-7 states, “Will you not revive us again that your people may rejoice in you? Show us Your mercy, Lord, and grant us salvation.”

May I also add that Revelation called the seven churches to repentance, all but one.

What an arrogant lot of people we are to go on thinking that we don’t need to have revival.
