Victims of fire offers thanks for all who helped
To the editor:
We would like to thank, God for His protection over us and also to local business, family, churches, friends, neighbors, first responders, and community members for all of your donations, kind words and prayers.
As we watched nearly everything we owned going up in flames, we wondered how we would ever be able to pull our lives back together. The task seemed insurmountable as we were even at a loss as to know where to begin. But today, just a month later, thanks to God and the love and support that all of you have given us, our lives have gained a sense of “order” again, and we are more than ready to move forward.
You have made us feel like the characters, George and Mary Bailey, in the movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Just as they discovered they were rich because they were surrounded by friends, so we know we are very rich, at least in the area where it matters most. We are rich because we know God, and because we are surrounded by so many kind, caring, thoughtful, loving, and generous friends and neighbors. We pray that God will bless all of you for demonstrating to us, and to the world, what it truly means to be a community.
