Responds to comments regarding Christmas tree

To the editor:

I am responding to the comments that was on The Review’s website concerning the decorating of the city’s Christmas tree in the Diamond area and complained on how horrible it looked.

My name is Paula Vaughn and I am vice president of The Beacon Association here in East Liverpool. There was only a group of five of us that took time out of our already busy day to decorate the tree and the Diamond area (I had blasted all social media outlets three days in advance asking anyone in the community to come and help decorate the tree and Diamond area).

Three to four days after we decorated we had that nasty wind storm. If people in this community would stop sitting back and criticizing those that volunteer that try to do something nice for our community and get busy and help make the community look better than there would be nothing for people to complain about. It takes everyone working together to make our community a better place — not the same handful of people who volunteer on a regular basis. If you want to see change, I suggest you volunteer and help those that already try to make a difference in our community.

Paula Vaughn,

Vice President,

The Beacon Association,

East Liverpool
