“As Long As We Believe”

To the editor:

“We all have our own separate paths to take….our own destinations to choose…we all have our own contributions to make…our own special talents to use…we all have our own kind of life to pursue…have our own kind of dreams to be weaving…and we all have the power to make wishes come true…as long as we keep believing.” — Amanda Bradley

I came across a handwritten copy of this in some of Cathy’s papers that I have and because she went to so much trouble to copy this quote of Amanda Bradley, I decided to go on the internet and see what else she might have written. This is one of hers that I found:

“Forget about the days when it’s been cloudy…but don’t forget about your hours in the sun…forget about the mistakes that you can’t change now…but don’t forget the lessons that you’ve learned…forget about the misfortunes you’ve encountered…but don’t forget the times your luck has changed…forget about the days you’ve been lonely…but don’t forget about the friendly smiles you’ve seen…forget about the plans that didn’t seem to work out right…but do not forget to always dream!”

“Believe in yourself…what you think…what you feel…believe in the truth…in the good…in the ideal…believe that your dreams can someday become real. Forever and always believe!!!” — Amanda Bradley.

Cathy’s dreams were horribly shattered on Sept. 11, 2001. But she has left her imprint on so many hearts that she will always be remembered. I have learned to lightly use the word “NEVER” because it constricts the user in moving on and living as she would have wanted. Cathy, you will be in the hearts and minds of those who knew you and loved you. Mom

Eleanor Salter,
