Voices heard with Dyce in office

2 min read

Dear Editor:

There is only one candidate for state representative who is interested in the welfare of working men and women in Columbiana County and he has a record to prove it. That man is John Dyce.

John’s involvement on behalf of workers was seen in his tireless efforts to win repeal of Senate Bill 5 in 2011, through referendum. John also supports attempts to increase the state minimum wage. He recognizes that there are many wage earners in Ohio and, particularly, in Columbiana County, who are facing the prospect of trying to raise a family on a mere $8.10 per hour.

John, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, as well as a retired postal carrier, favors collective bargaining for public employees. His opponent is against the idea that public employees should have the right to bargain over wages and other conditions of their employment. In fact, his opponent has stated that he thinks Ohio should become a so-called “right to work” state, thus eliminating the existence of unions to help workers.

John Dyce is pro-union, pro-worker and pro-middle class. He has been endorsed by the Ohio Education Association, the Ohio AFL-CIO, The Western Reserve Building Trades, the Hall of Fame Central Labor Council, AFSCME/OAPSE and the CWA/IUE.

With John Dyce as our representative in Columbus, the voices of Columbiana County will be heard.
