Get this under control

1 min read

Dear Editor:

The article in the paper on Monday, Oct. 10, describing the three companies that shipped a total of 459.4 million pain pills to West Virginia over a 6-year period was alarming. That is over 41 pain pills a year for every man, woman, and child in West Virginia.

I'm wondering what the justification is for suing the drug companies though? Who ordered these pills? What pharmacies received them? What doctors prescribed them? Why did it take six years for someone in government to discover this? It seems like there is a lot of blame to go around here.

This is an epidemic and a coordinated effort by all of the above needs to be made to get this under control.
