Dear Editor:
I have been a fairly loyal Democrat for most of my life. However, some years, such as this year, I cannot support the presidential candidate.
Hillary Clinton has done little to earn my respect. She has a history of changing her views for political reasons and misleading the public. She talks about overturning Citizens United, yet takes full advantage of it. She has a history of pandering to Wall Street and banking interests for personal gain. She claims to be transparent, yet had to be forced to turn over email records and refuses to release transcripts of her speeches to Wall Street.
She continues to lie about her emails while Secretary of State, basically calling the FBI director a liar.
I wrote to the Ohio Democratic Party as well as to Sen. Sherrod Brown about my concerns, yet got no response. Apparently the elite of the party don’t want to hear from ordinary voters. This attitude explains the rise of Donald Trump, who is a horrible candidate. The voters are tired of politics as usual, and are willing to nominate virtually anyone no matter how bad.
I will probably skip the presidential election, but I will be voting for state and local candidates and issues. It is just disappointing to have two such terrible candidates for President.
