Dear Editor:
I’m an 87-year-old octogenarian that’s very concerned about the future of our God-loved country.
Even though I’ll probably not see much of the next decade, I do have many friends and family that will be effected with who is elected our next president.
The thought of Donald Trump at the helm bothers me.
I believe Bernie Sanders has the right ideas that I favor, but, my vote, tentatively, will be for Hillary Clinton, who has worldwide experience, who is for the people who need a fair chance, who favors the right of workers, who will fight for better and equal pay, who will always protect Social Security, Medicare, and all the benefits we citizens won while Republicans fought us tooth and nail.
Our country is overdue for a woman president and one who will be beneficial to “we the people.”
Women have always proved to be the backbone of any successful organization.
Look at any women’s auxiliary in a club, church, school, etc., and you’ll see it’s done right. Women are more compassionate about our land and its people.
Men have always ruled the world and the results these past 1,000 years were only 90 years of peace with war after war.
What a sad record for mankind.
The only real male leader these past 2,000 years was, is and always will be, Jesus, himself – if only we could imitate Him.
It’s difficult for me to comprehend the mindset of millions of Republicans who had 17 choices for a leader and ousted some good people like Kasich, Bush, Carson and Christie and could want a person like Donald Trump.
This man has shown his egotism, conceit, self-worth, an insulter, a liar, bully, and one with adversity toward Muslims, Mexicans, invalids, immigrants, some women, and the media.
He claimed not to know David Duke, a worldwide known leader of the KKK.
He doesn’t feel John McCain should be considered a hero for being a POW for years.
He thinks Mike Tyson (boxer) is a real man – real men don’t rape kids.
He said minimum wagers make too much!
Really, I could go on and on with the negativity of this person and don’t understand how some people can want him as president of our already great, great land.
Donald Trump promises to be iron-fisted with all world leaders – sounds like Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Genghis Khan to me.
When voting this November, keep Jesus in mind and ask yourself WWJD, and vote with common sense and unselfishness.
Don’t be one-minded like some wealthy hoggish person, or some Evangelical or some NRA member, and think of the whole package that would help everybody.
Some Republicans claim that Obama was a do-nothing president. I think he did a lot with saving the auto industry, giving millions of people a much-needed medical insurance, and created millions of jobs. Not too bad with a Congress that fought him every inch of the way.
God bless America, please!
