Dear Editor:
Reading the headline article of the Friday, May 13th edition of The Review I was throughly impressed with the swift and decisive actions of Columbiana County Judge Chris Amato by his substantially increasing the bonds of two individuals that were charged with absolutely senseless crimes. One was for the recent random drive by shooting in Wellsville where this defendant shot up the car of a mother letting her daughter out to attend a birthday party – neither knew the other. Then, as pointed out by Wellsville Police Officer Steve Rodgers, this Rhodes Scholar then bragged about it on social media.
Judge Amato also increased the bond of a man from Salem that chose to possess chemicals used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine in a home with two children living there – evidence of yet another loving and caring adult.
While the two aforementioned defendants displayed a total lack of concern for the health and welfare of the residents of this county – Judge Amato took the initiative to assure the public these people will not easily find their way back to our streets. I am confident there are many more people in our county that share my thoughts when I say
“Thank you Judge Amato”!!!
