Argument against admitting refugees

1 min read

Dear Editor:

Those who approve of admitting the refugees would probably not take any themselves. OK, I know that was a cheap shot, and the weakest of the arguments.

We can’t properly investigate the people who are coming here. Tashfeen Malik – the woman who was part of the San Bernardino incident – was investigated three times and still made it into the U.S. She also had an infant at home. Her situation indicates that we can’t even trust women with babes-in-arms.

These people should be welcomed into the surrounding Muslim countries. Saudi Arabia, for instance, is taking no refugees.

Christian refugees should be considered, before any Muslims are granted refugee status.

Title 8, Section 1158 of the United States Code requires that religion and religious persecution be key factors in determining refugee status. Christians in the Middle East are the objects of genocide. Muslims are not.
