Auditoriums in our area’s schools again are being filled, as our high and middle schools offer their annual spring productions.

The presentations offer a great opportunity for relatives, friends and area residents to support our school districts while enjoying the talents of area students.

Each of these productions represents the culmination of months and months of hard work from students who learned lines, songs and dance routines.

The shows are examples of the patience and hard work of the teachers and directors, and of support staff including students and parents and other teachers who helped to get the stages ready, the sets prepared and the costumes just so.

Each performance offers a chance to laugh, to ponder and to simply enjoy the talented students, young people dedicated enough to have put in the time it takes to successfully put on a production.

It is a credit to these schools, these instructors and, especially, these students who put into action the words of Alexander Pope: “Act well your part. There all the honor lies.”

And it was all worth it when the curtains opened, the lights came up and the applause rose from a grateful audience.
