Selma R. Ladzinske

1936-2026

Selma R. Ladzinske, 90, of East Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, at Continuing Health Care in Boardman.

Born on July 2, 1936, in East Liverpool, Selma was the daughter of the late Leo O. and Iona A. Dales Ladzinske. She was also preceded in death by her beloved sister, Janice Herzog, Ruth Forbeck; brothers-in-law, John Forbeck and James Scimikowsky; and sister-in-law, Rebecca Ladzinske.

Selma was a proud graduate of East Liverpool High School and continued her education at Lutheran Hospital Nurses Training. She devoted many years of her life to nursing a profession that reflected her caring heart and genuine love for helping others. She treasured the opportunity to work with people and make a difference in their lives through her kindness, compassion, and dedication.

Beyond her nursing career, Selma found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling, and making quilt tops for her church, sharing her time and talents with others. Her creative spirit and generous nature were evident in the things she loved to do.

Selma also had a deep commitment to serving her community and those in need. She was very active with the American Red Cross and generously volunteered her time to assist with flood relief efforts in California, Georgia, and Iowa. Her willingness to help others, even far from home, reflected the compassion and selflessness that were such an important part of her life.

Selma will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Leo J. Ladzinske, and his wife, Jo Ann, of Warner Robins, Georgia; her brother, Joseph Mark Ladzinske, of Calcutta; and her sister, Mary I. Schimikowsky, of Calcutta and many nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered with love by all who knew her and were touched by her caring spirit.

Selma leaves behind a legacy of compassion, service, and quiet generosity. Through her years of nursing, her dedication to helping others, and the love she shared with family and friends, she made a lasting difference in the lives of many. Though she will be deeply missed, the kindness she offered and the memories she leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

At this time, no services are planned.

Selma is in the compassionate care of the Arner Funeral Chapel.
