Danny Lynn Conley

1950-2026

Danny Lynn Conley, 75, of East Liverpool, Ohio, passed away at home on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026. He was born in Clarksburg, W.Va., on Oct. 20, 1950, a son of the late Gordon Conley and the late Emma Jean (Parker) Conley Diddle. After his father passed away, his mother remarried the late John H. Diddle.

Dan is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susan Conley, whom he married on June 1, 1973, and their two children: Eric (Jennifer) Conley and Pamela (Chris) Conley Vannoy. He was very proud of his five grandchildren: Alexander, Allison, Andrew Conley; and Benjamin and Lauren Vannoy.

He is also survived by brothers Keith (Helen) Conley, Craig (Barbara) Conley, John R. (Annette) Diddle, James (Crystal) Diddle, William (Tammy) Diddle, Timothy (Kimberly) Diddle; his sister Mary Jane Diddle Landis; his sister-in-law Nancy Conley; and many nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law Maryalice (Robert) Davis, whom he loved like a sister, and her daughter, Shannon Davis; and Mike (Susan) Harvey, whom Dan referred to as his "brother from another mother."

Dan graduated from Beaver Local High School in 1969. He worked at The Hall China Company from 1973 until his retirement in 2019. He worked throughout the plant including in the color room, as a night watchman, and in the shipping department, but he spent most of his years working all three shifts on the kilns. Because of his long proximity to the heat of the kilns, Dan could often be seen wearing a sweatshirt and coat on a warm summer day, and several layers during the other three seasons.

He was active in his young adult years, playing pickup basketball and coaching a women's softball team. Later in life, Dan had a love/hate relationship with bowling and golf.

Dan was a devoted family man. He worked long hours but always made time for his kids. He will be remembered for his boisterous laugh, his love of dancing, and his willingness to lend a helping hand when anyone needed it. Though his grandkids lived hours away, he would make time to go to a football game, watch a cheer competition, or listen to a concert. He was excited about each grandchild's accomplishments and loved seeing photos of their activities.

Along with his parents and stepfather, Dan was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Conley; his beloved in-laws, Darrell and Donna Myers; and his brother-in-law, Floyd "Bud" Murray.

Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral and Cremation in Calcutta. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. officiated by Pastor David Quillen.
