James Morris Sr., 82, of Wellsville, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026. He was born on Dec. 1,1944, the son of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Corless) Morris. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon (Dutry) Morris; three brothers, infant William, Lawrence Jr. and Allen Morris; two sisters, Charlotte Walker and Norma Kotoulas.
James was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the Air Force, and a member of the Wellsville American Legion and the former Wellsville VFW. He enjoyed fishing and camping, and loved his Clewells Landing Family.
He is survived by two daughters, Maria Dimatteo, with whom he resided, and Pamela (Randy) George of Pennsylvania; and a son James Morris Jr. of Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Morgon Allbaugh (Matt Bressler) and Eddie (Kelsey) Allbaugh. He is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth (Morris) Brown of Calcutta and a fur-baby, Honey.
As per James wishes there will be no services. The Nixon Funeral Home of Newell is in charge of arrangements.
