Stanley Alan Conley, 71, of East Liverpool, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Aug. 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1954 in East Liverpool to Gordon and Emma Jean (Williams) Conley, Stan grew up in a home shaped by love, resilience, and faith. After his father's passing, his mother remarried John H. Diddle, who became a caring stepfather and an important part of Stan's life.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Nancy (Bosworth) Conley, whom he married in 1977, and their four beloved children: Catherine "Cat" (Roberto) Grogg, Jennifer (Andrew) McMullin, Garey (Theresa) Conley, and Jessica Conley. Stan cherished his role as "Pap" to 11 grandchildren: Lillian, Elijah, Daisy, and Maximilian Grogg; Owen, Hailey, and Liam McMullin; and Lucy, Simon, Nora, and Hope Conley. To Stan, his family was both his greatest blessing and proudest legacy, living testament to his love and guidance.
He is also survived by brothers Dan (Susan) Conley, Keith (Helen) Conley, Craig (Barbara) Conley, John R. (Annette) Diddle, James (Crystal) Diddle, William (Tammy) Diddle, Timothy (Kimberly) Diddle, as well as his sister Mary Jane Diddle Landis, and mother-in-law Eleanor Bosworth.
A devout Catholic, Stan devoted his time and talents to Holy Trinity Parish in East Liverpool, where he served faithfully as an altar server, lector, extraordinary minister, and choir member. He was also a Lay Leader in Prayer through the Diocese of Youngstown. As a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, Stan held the honor of Past Grand Knight (PGK) for both East Liverpool 509 and Holy Trinity 507, leading with humility and compassion.
Stan was a proud graduate of Beaver Local High School, Class of 1972. He dedicated 24 years of his career to serving as an EMT at Tri-County Ambulance, finding deep fulfillment in helping his community in times of need. In 2006, Stan received the precious gift of a kidney transplant, granting him 19 more cherished years with his loved ones. In retirement, Stan and Nancy shared their creativity and joy by crafting and selling unique pewter jewelry as The Charming Pewter Cottage.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Conley, Emma (Conley) Diddle, and John H. Diddle; his beloved grandson, Patrick Hong McMullin; and his father-in-law, Garey Bosworth. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Visiting hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 7:30 p.m, followed by the rosary at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, W.Va. The funeral mass will be at Holy Trinity Parish on 5th Street, East Liverpool, on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, at 10 a.m., with a graveside service following at Locust Hill Cemetery on Locust Hill Road in Chester, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Parish in memory of Stan.
