EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio - Robert L. "Bob" Erwin, 88, of East Liverpool, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Trinity West.
Bob was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on May 2, 1938. He was a graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1957. Bob worked at Crucible Steel in the 24-inch bar mill. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Bob enjoyed woodworking and made shelves and baby cribs for his family. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Preceding Bob in death were his son Kenneth Erwin; father Paul Erwin; mother Mary (Williams) Zeigler; stepfather Lloyd Zeigler; sister-in-law Debbie Sonntog; and two brothers-in-law, Eugene Beal and Sandy DeBacco.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years, whom he married July 27, 1958, Margaret "Peggy" (Griffith) Erwin; son Steve Erwin and his wife Susan; daughter Tracy Wilson and her husband Steven; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Randy Sonntog and Jeff Sonntog; two sisters, Shirley Beal and Linda DeBacco; and daughter-in-law Julie Erwin.
Friends may visit Thursday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 3 to 5 p.m. Rev. Wilmer Olszewski will conduct a funeral service 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Immediately following the service the family will gather at the Southern Hills Church of Christ, Route 39 Salineville for a time of fellowship.
