Jane Wheeler, 76, of Hanoverton, Ohio, passed away on Aug. 25, 2026. She was born on July 22, 1950, the daughter of the late Earl and Violet (Aikens) Glendenning. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Glendenning, and a sister, Charlotte Black.
Jane was a retired corrections officer for Columbiana County. She loved animals and gardening and flowers.
She is survived by her loving husband, William Wheeler, at home; a son, Shawn Greathouse of Hanoverton; two grandchildren, Shawn Jr. and Zach. She is also survived by a sister, Sally (Floyd) Quarterman of East Liverpool; and several nieces and nephews, and her furbaby, Sassy.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, at the Nixon Funeral Home of Newell from 3 p.m. to time of funeral service at 6 p.m.
