Beverly Ruth (Howell) Bissell

1933-2026

Beverly Ruth (Howell) Bissell, 93 went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 27, 2026 at her daughter's residence in Spencerville, Ohio. She lived in Celina from 1974 until December of 2023, at which time she moved into her daughter and son-in-law's home. She had been under Hospice Care there for the last six weeks.

She was born on April 26, 1933 in East Liverpool, Ohio, to the late Edwin and Margaret (Mahon) Howell. On Oct. 12, 1951 she married her high school sweetheart Rev. Dale R. Bissell; he preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 2021.

Beverly is survived by her two daughters, Karen Storer of St. Marys and Kim (Michael) Deal of Spencerville; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Kevin) Cord of St. Marys, Chad (Carina) Deal of Spencerville and Christina (Steve) Christie of Allen, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Matthew (Maureen) Pepe.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Beverly was preceded in death by her two sisters, three brothers-in-law, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, one son-in-law and two great-grandchildren.

Beverly was a home-maker and a Pastor's wife. She loved singing and working for the Lord alongside her husband. About 30-plus years ago she felt the call to do Home Health Care as a ministry and did so until she retired around 2020. She was a caring person and enjoyed sharing about her Lord with others. She loved cats, reading and baking.

Beverly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She loved all her family very much.

The Bissell family would like to thank the Grand Lake Hospice team for their excellent care throughout their mother's journey.

A funeral service will be held for Beverly at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Rick Rufenacht officiating. Burial will follow in the Mercer Memory Gardens Cemetery in Celina. A public visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home.
