Susan K. LaNeve

Born in East Liverpool, she was the daughter of the late Clair and Twyla Finley. A 1955 graduate of Chester High School, she later earned her master’s degree from West Virginia University. She taught at Hancock County schools before leaving the profession to raise her three sons. Devoted to her family, she was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker who also enjoyed flower gardening and making quilts for her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Edward B. LaNeve, whom she married Aug. 19, 1970; her sons, Joseph LaNeve (Kelli), Michael LaNeve (Lynn), and Andrew LaNeve; grandchildren, Jared LaNeve (Stephanie), Jocelyn LaNeve, Jadyn Wilhelm (Parker), and Jacob LaNeve; and great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Greyson, and Weston.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the excellent care provided by Calcutta Health Care Center.

Fr. Bala Marneni and Pastor David Quillen will conduct a funeral service on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Following the service the family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chester/Newell FISH Foundation.
