Debra S. ‘Debbie’ Sonntog

WELLSVILLE, Ohio – Debra S. “Debbie” Sonntog, 69, of Wellsville, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at her home with her family by her side.

Debbie was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on Jan. 29, 1957, a daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Audra I. (Cline) Gilmore. She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1975. Debbie was a very happy and welcoming person that would go out of her way to help and meet the needs of others. She enjoyed crocheting, baking and going for walks. Debbie loved angels and collected many over the years. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt that enjoyed spending time with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years, whom she married Nov. 14, 1974, Randall R. “Randy” Sonntog; two sons, Randall Sonntog and his wife Amy and Gregory Sonntog and his wife Mishell; two grandsons, Jaden Tittle and Gordon Sonntog; three sisters, Betty Springer Joy, Shirley Hercules and her husband Joe and Linda Crawford; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends may visit Wednesday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 10 a.m. to noon. Evangelist Will Montgomery will conduct a funeral service noon Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service the family will gather at the Virginia Avenue Church of Christ in Chester for a time of fellowship.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House and Karen Taylor for the exceptional care they provided for Debbie.
