Jeralyn S. Hartline

1949-2026

Jeralyn S. Hartline, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family at her Wellsville home on Friday, May 22, 2026. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved touched the lives of all who knew her.

76 years old, Jeralyn was the daughter of the late Walter Rice and Geraldine Byers, and she was born in East Liverpool on Aug. 24, 1949.

She dedicated herself to a rewarding career in the healthcare industry, beginning as a unit clerk at East Liverpool City Hospital. After a period in North Carolina, she concluded her professional journey as a respected registration and insurance specialist at Ankle and Footcare in Calcutta. Jeralyn was raised in the Catholic faith and was a proud graduate of Wellsville High School. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was the heart of her family — her wisdom, generosity, and boundless love made her the epitome of a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. The time she spent nurturing and guiding her grandchildren and great-grandchildren created cherished memories that will live on for generations.

Along with her parents, her husband, Richard Hartline (Sept. 11, 2019), her son, Randall Hartline (Dec. 15, 1990), and, most recently, her great-granddaughter, Piper Palmer, preceded her in death.

Jeralyn’s legacy is carried on by her loving family: her devoted daughter, Amy (Dale) Palmer of Wellsville; her son, Rich Hartline; her cherished siblings; and her treasured grandchildren — Becca Hartline, Olivia (Chris) Sheville, Mitchell Hartline, and Noah (Ann) Palmer. She will be fondly remembered by her great-grandchildren, Hadley, Madison, and Dominic Sheville, as well as by all whose lives she touched with her kindness and compassion.

Pastor Mark Blakeley of the Wellsville Christian Church will celebrate Jeralyn’s life at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Friday, May 29, at 11 a.m. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Jeralyn’s family wishes to extend a special thank-you to Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in East Palestine and Buckeye Hospice for the wonderful care provided to their loved one during this difficult time.
