Doris Ramsey

Doris Ramsey, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away April 19, 2026, at Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant.

Doris was born Dec. 31, 1942, in East Liverpool, Ohio, the daughter of Glenn Howard and Ruth Jenny (Krause) Ramsey. Doris graduated from Liverpool High School and then Kent State University. She was a member and treasurer of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International and member of Alpha Psi Omega National Theater Honor Society.

Doris worked at CMU for over 40 years, beginning in 1967, her name and work will live on in the theatre department. The Doris J. Ramsey Endowed Theatre Scholarship was established in 2019 and is awarded annually to a student actively involved in costuming, lighting, or make-up in a CMU production. Doris enjoyed sewing, needlework and was an avid reader.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place, there are no services.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Ruth Jones and her niece Ruth Harrell.
