David A. Betteridge

1942-2026

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio – David A. Betteridge, 84, of East Liverpool, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in East Palestine with his family by his side.

David was born in Wellsville, Ohio on Jan. 23, 1942, a son of the late Flave A. and Mildred C. (Grafton) Betteridge. He was a graduate of East Liverpool High School class of 1960. David was an Army veteran proudly serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as an operating engineer with Union Local 66 until his retirement in 2002. David was a founding member of the Calcutta Lions Club and served as one of the club’s first presidents. He also was a member of the District 2 Retirees Club and served as a trustee for over 20 years. He enjoyed nature and painting. David was a loving father and grandfather.

Preceding David in death were his wife of 58 years, whom he married Dec. 7, 1966, Virginia K. “Ginnie” Betteridge; sister Virginia Mae Ferguson and two brothers, Raymond Betteridge and John “Jack” Betteridge.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Nanci Bush and her husband Mike and Nicole Elick and her husband Mark; two grandsons, Tanner Elick and Zane Elick; and sister Joyce Bell.

Friends may visit Tuesday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 6 p.m. where Evangelist Rico Brown of Virginia Avenue Church of Christ will conduct a funeral service on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. Burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park where Tri State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.
