Bobbie Jo Huston

NEGLEY — Bobbie Jo Huston, 55, passed away April 7, 2026, surrounded by her family at Covington Skilled Nursing in East Palestine.
Bobbie Jo was born April 24, 1970, in Salem, Ohio, daughter of the late David Pethtel Sr. and Joyce (Gorby) Pethtel.
She was a lifelong resident of Negley and was a 1988 graduate of Beaver Local High School. She worked for 30 years for the Ogden News affiliates, East Liverpool Review, Morning Journal and Salem News as a page designer. When not working, she enjoyed watching Pittsburgh Penguins hockey, following her favorite football players on various teams, reading, movies, shopping, coloring, hanging out with her cats and dogs, but most especially she loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Bobbie Jo is survived by three children, Josalyn (Shaun) Crookston of Negley, Jake (Kennedy) Huston of Negley, Rylie Huston of East Liverpool; six grandchildren, Paetyn, Zoey, Addison, Braelyn, Jameson and Beau; two brothers, David (Denise) Pethtel and John (Nancy) Pethtel, both of Negley; two sisters, Barb (fiance Carl) Pethel and Carol (Jim) McCowin, both of Salem; three sisters-in-law, Danna (Kevin) Frazier, Lorie (Dave) McCoy, Lynn (David) Mays; her mother-in-law, Kay Huston; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Jim Huston; a grandson, Colton Huston; and her father-in-law, James Huston, and her beloved dog, Case-ih.
A funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Tim Postle officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 3 to 4 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bobbie Jo’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
