Together again

1950-2026

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald D. Pennington, affectionately known as Ron, who left us peacefully on March 4, 2026, at Valley Oaks Care Center. Born on May 16, 1950, in East Liverpool the son of the late Ray and Dorothy (Lunsford) Pennington, Ron lived a fulfilling life of 75 years, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories.

Ron was a proud graduate of Beaver Local High School, where he laid the foundation for a life rich with experiences and contributions. His professional journey took him from manufacturing airplane parts in Oklahoma to his most recent position at Roe Carpet. Throughout his career, Ron was admired for his dedication and craftsmanship, qualities that extended into his personal hobbies.

A man of many talents, Ron had a passion for playing the guitar and was an avid woodworker, crafting pieces that reflected his meticulous nature. He was also a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, rarely missing a game and cheering on his team with unyielding enthusiasm.

Along with his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 22 years, Diana Ervin Hart-Pennington, who passed away in 2011, and his brother, Don Pennington.

He is survived by his children: Charles Hart of Uhrichsville, Ohio, Misty Hanlon of East Liverpool, Ohio, and Ramona Hiesler of Boonville, Missouri. He also leaves behind his brother, Ray Pennington, of Leetonia, Ohio, 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and his good friends Huck Steffen and Rick Honaker

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation in Calcutta. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., officiated by Pastor Bill Barlow. Ron will be laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery
